PLEASE NOTE: There may be some offender information that has not yet been entered into this Registry. This site should not be relied upon as a comprehensive resource for offenders who are registered with the Washoe Tribe.

Welcome to the Washoe Tribe of Nevada and California Sex Offender Registry Website. The purpose of this Registry is to provide information to the public concerning information on sex offenders who are required to register pursuant to Law and Order Code Title 31, Sex Offender Registration and Notification Ordinance (“SORNO”) enacted by the Washoe Tribe on February 13, 2009. Any sex offender who works, goes to school, resides, or comes onto Washoe lands is required to register with the Washoe Tribe Police Department within three (3) business days. This Registry is maintained by the Washoe Tribe Police Department, Sex Offender Registration, Notification, Enforcement, and Tracking (SORNET) Unit.

The Registry is NOT intended to replace the Community Notification process – rather, it allows the Washoe Tribe to promote public awareness concerning the potential threat that sex offenders may pose to all citizens. The Registry will empower you to obtain information on some sex offenders within the Tribe’s jurisdiction and take the appropriate precautions. Furnishing the public with information regarding convicted sex offenders is a critical step towards encouraging the public to protect themselves from potential future acts. An informed public is a safer public.

Not all sex offenders have been caught and convicted. Most sex offenses are committed by family members, friends, or acquaintances of the victim. For more information, be sure to click on these links: on the www.nsopw.gov site, click on “Education and Prevention”.
